▣ Abstract

Additive Manufacturing (AM) has revolutionized the production of complex and customized components, offering unprecedented design flexibility. However, the tribomechanical response of AM materials—including their wear, friction, and mechanical performance under various loading conditions—remains a critical challenge. This seminar will explore the unique microstructural features of AM materials and their impact on tribological and mechanical properties. Emphasis will be placed on fatigue and fretting fatigue behaviors, drawing on insights from advanced experimental techniques and numerical simulations. The presentation will also address ongoing challenges, including anisotropy, surface features, and surface/subsurface defects, while proposing strategies for optimizing material performance for industrial applications.
