Welcome to Mechanical Engineering

The School of Mechanical Engineering at Yonsei University delivers world-class education and research across a broad spectrum of fields — mechanics and materials, energy and thermo-fluids, robotics and control, design and manufacturing, micro/nano engineering, and bio-photonics.   1. Selected for the Phase 4 Brain Korea 21 (BK21) program

2010s

  1. Agreement signed for the Phase 3 Brain Korea 21 (BK21) Plus program

  2. 50th anniversary of the founding of the Department of Mechanical Engineering

2000s

  1. Joined the ABEEK accreditation program

  2. Separated from the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering into an independent School of Mechanical Engineering (current admission quota of 180)

  1. Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Design integrated into the Mechanical Engineering major

  2. Merged into the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering

  1. Industrial Machinery major of the Graduate School of Industry renamed Mechanical Engineering
