Development of Active Workpiece Holder for Machining Vibration Suppression

The research team, led by Professor JunYoung Yoon from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (EunKyu Kim, BoMin Kang, SangMin Lee, and HyeongMin Yoon), has collaborated with DN Solutions on a research project developing of active workpiece holder for machining vibrations suppression. Based on the outstanding outcomes of this research, the team was honored with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award at the 2024 Industry-Academia Project Challenge, in November 2024.
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), the Industry-Academia Project Challenge is a competition recognizing collaborative projects between graduate students and companies that address technological challenges in industrial settings. In 2024, 12 teams out of 435 participants were awarded the prestigious Minister's Award.
