Heat energy is one of many forms of internal energy, also often called to be thermal energy. Based on my teaching and research experience during thirty years, I am going to present a collection of my learning about the heat energy usually not clearly stated in typical textbooks. This presentation will walk over several fields of study such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, and thermoelectrics by using easy words. Thermodynamics includes the first and second laws of thermodynamics, entropy, and Carnot cycle. Heat transfer includes conduction, convection, and radiation. Lastly, thermoelectrics includes fundamental physics such as the Seebeck coefficient, Peltier cooling, Thomson effect and Ohm’s law along with some application.
